On Golden Circle, Thingvellir - Gullfoss - Geysir
Björk Guesthouse
Built in 1930, Björk Guesthouse is one of the oldest houses in Laugarvatn. The building originally served as a dormitory for the town’s high school and was designed by Guðjón Samúelsson, one of Iceland’s most renowned architects. Guðjón is known for designing several of Iceland’s most iconic landmarks, including Hallgrímskirkja, the striking church overlooking downtown Reykjavík, as well as the University of Iceland and the National Theatre of Iceland.
Located in the heart of Iceland’s most popular travel route the Golden Circle. Laugarvatn offers a perfect base for exploring the country’s natural wonders. From here, you can easily visit the Laugarvatn Fontana geothermal Spa, Caves of Laugarvatn, Brúarárfoss, Gullfoss waterfall, the Geysir geothermal area, and Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the historic location of the world’s first parliament. Laugarvatn is also an ideal spot for viewing the Northern Lights during winter. Nearby activities include geothermal bathing, hiking, fishing, river rafting, sailing, golf, and horse riding.
Björk Guesthouse features seven private rooms, each with its own private bathroom. All rooms are cozy and bright, offering free Wi-Fi, fresh linens, towels, toiletries, and everything you need for a comfortable stay.
