About us
Björk Guesthouse
The house was built in 1930 and is one of the oldest house in Laugarvatn. The building originally housed the dormitory for the town´s high school.The building was designed by Guðjón Samúelsson, considered by many to be the foremost architect in Iceland´s history. Guðjón designed many famous buildings in Iceland including Hallgrímskirkja, the landmark church that looks ower downtown Reykjavík, University of Iceland building and the National Theater of Iceland.
Laugarvatn is located in the heart of Iceland´s most popular destinations – The Golden Circle. The gesthouse beautiful settings makes it the perfect base for touring Iceland´s most popular natural wonders: The Golden Circle of mighty Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir hot springs and Thingvellir National Park – the ancient site of the world´s first parliament and on UNESCO´S world heritage site. Laugarvatn is also an ideal spot for catching the northern lights. Nearby activities are geothermal baths, hiking, fishing, river rafting, sailing, golf and horse riding.
