Guests at Björk Guesthouse are welcome to enjoy a delicious breakfast at Héraðsskólinn, located within two minutes walking distance. Breakfast is served daily between 07:30 and 09:30, offering a great start to your day. Please note that breakfast is not included, but guests can contact us for more information.
Entertainment and activities
There are plenty of things to see and do around Björk Guesthouse. Explore the fascinating Caves of Laugarvatn, visit the famous Friðheimar tomato farm, or take a short drive to natural wonders like Gullfoss, Geysir, and Brúarárfoss. Adventure seekers can enjoy rafting in Drumboddstaðir, snowmobiling on Langjökull Glacier, or diving and snorkeling in Silfra between two tectonic plates. Nearby farms like Efstidalur and several geothermal pools in the area offer relaxing and authentic local experiences.
Northern lights
Laugarvatn is a wonderful place to experience the Northern Lights, thanks to its open skies and minimal light pollution. While sightings can never be guaranteed, we always keep an eye on the skies for our guests. When the aurora appears, we send out a Northern Lights alert and are happy to recommend great viewing spots within a 10-minute drive from the town.
Geothermal Baths
The Laugarvatn area is rich in geothermal baths, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The closest one, Fontana Geothermal Baths, is located right here in town. Within a 40-minute drive, you can also visit Laugarás Lagoon, the Secret Lagoon, Hrunalaug, or Reykjadalur hot river. We are always happy to help guests find the perfect geothermal bath to suit their preferences.
